How To Get The CRBR-S For Free, Step One - Build Klaus

The first thing you’re going to want to do is to get the power switched on. It seems obvious, but you’ll need it to access some of the steps of the process. If you don’t know how to do this or how to Pack-A-Punch (which you’ll need in order to find the CRBR-S), you can check out our guide here.

Head to the side of the Pack-A-Punch area and look around the watchtowers. You’ll see these small piles of debris that you can look through to score useful salvage and ammo. But hidden away in one of these is a Microwave Dish – pick it up and then activate the Aether encounter. At low rounds, it’s a doddle if you’re concentrating, especially with the PAP machine up and running. Stick a brain rot mod on your best gun, and head back to the starting area.

Now you need to get yourself to the hotel - you should’ve been through here earlier - search for Room 305. Hold your ground against any zombies that come your way, and when brain rot pops, your new undead ally will make a beeline for a battered door that you can’t open, and kindly break it down for you. Grab the robotic hands you’ll find inside and go ham on the undead until you reach Round 10. This, believe it or not, is the easy part.

On round 10 a Panzer will spawn among the masses. Kill it and pick up the last piece, the battery. Leave a few zombies playing chase and head back down to where you first met Klaus. With your new items in hand, you can get this plucky, sarcastic killing machine going again.

Once Klaus is up and running and has hit you with a few zingers, you’re going to head to this nearby room. Klaus will start indiscriminately murdering zombies at this point, so be wary of the chance for a new round. Press L1 and instruct Klaus to stand by the locker. He’ll helpfully open it for you, and you’re one step closer to the Wonder Weapon. Pick up the shiny new blacklight sat there, and make sure you have it switched on for now. This item is crucial to the next step, so don’t go anywhere without it from here on out. Now you’ll have the chance to put it to use.

How To Get The CRBR-S For Free, Step Three - Find The Hidden Numbers

There are three locations where this is going to be very useful - the first is in the Garment Factory, where you’ll find the number 1 above an ammo box. Search with your Blacklight around the area, and you’ll spot two shiny numbers. That’s your first code.

Bear in mind that these numbers can move, so keep your eye out. First code in hand, head back underground to the Service Passage - it’s just down the East Berlin ladder. Find the number 2, and search the area, in the dark you should spot them fairly easily.

Now that you have two codes, head up the ladder to the Grocery Store for your final stop. Once you have your three numbers in order (mine for reference were 38-03-03), head back to the hotel room where you found Klaus’ hands, and you’ll find a safe. Time for the final step.

This is your last stop. Interact with the safe, and mercifully, all zombies will leave you alone for this bit. Enter your numbers in the order you found them above, and boom, the CRBR-S is yours to control. The wonder weapon will start out as a simple pistol, and honestly, it’s broken as hell even in that state. You’ll have your own spherical friend helping you out taking shots whenever you do, and even approaching the mid-20 rounds and beyond, it still shreds. The main quirk of the CRBR-S is that you can shake up its style with mod attachments. These mods are dropped randomly by zombies once you’ve got the wonder weapon in hand.

It’s worth pointing out that you can technically bag the CRBR-S through other means, like proving yourself in Trials and scoring a Legendary reward, or getting lucky in the Mystery Box - but honestly, where’s the fun in that? And trust us, you’re going to need Klaus if you want to reach the later stages of Mauer Der Toten. Not only is the guy a riot to have around, but he’s also a deadly enemy to all things undead. Best of luck in Berlin, soldiers. You’ll need all the help you can get!
