Join Date: Oct 2019 Location: Florence, MT Posts: 175 | Leak under/behind shower Our 2020 Glacier Peak Titanium 28rks started showing a little water coming out from under shower pan, at a wall between the shower and toilet. |

A couple inches of water in the tub with drain closed, if leaks down you know its the drain, where it mounts to the tub floor. If it doesnt leak down sounds like a faulty connection under tub. Either you diagnose or leave too the dealer... we all know how leaving it to the dealer can go, never mind the down time. __________________ |

Join Date: Oct 2019 Location: Florence, MT Posts: 175 | If I look into the shower pan access I can sometimes see a thin wet trickle down a wall. It's a corner shower, so it has come down one or the other walls. You can never see any puddle under the shower, just where to makes its way to that area by the toilet. This is making me think that it is trucking down, into some channel, then once towing again it tilts slightly to that side. |

Outdoors RV Owners Club Join Date: Oct 2014 Posts: 3,539 | I have the same trailer and agree with your thinking that it is the pex connections at the faucet. The drain hole through the floor is large enough that I doubt a leak there would be seen on the floor, more likely to be in the basem*nt. My other thought is that it may be a broken faucet itself unless the water appears there even when not using the shower. If it is only when using the shower that eliminates the pex connections. I had a faucet break from freezing in my previous ORV after the dealer did some warranty work and it also only leaked when used. I am thinking of swapping to a one lever faucet anyway so if you have a desire for one it could be an opportune time to switch. __________________ |

Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: British Columbia Posts: 174 | Shower tap The shower Tap units are prone to cracking at the t where the water mixes hot and cold and only leak when using shower. Ive seen it a couple times on other rv's and had same symptoms. Water runs down wall and under shower. |

Join Date: Feb 2019 Location: Turner Valley, Alberta Posts: 116 | I too have the exact same trailer and will be falling this one closely. Last fall my shower was leaking down into the wet bay. I caulked the base and it when away. Someone told me on the facebook page that we were not supposed to caulk the pan to the walls. Not sure of the reasoning but I would rather take my chances with it caulked and not have water making a mess of the basem*nt. If mine starts leaking again I will suspect the faucet as pointed out here unless another cause is found. If you find out more please share. __________________ |

Did you 'stop' the leak OR just block the pathway for the leak and it is still leaking somewhere? Personally...I prefer Finding/Identifying 'Source' of leak and then Fix that __________________ |

Forest River Owners Club Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: So Calif Posts: 3,535 | There is absolutely no reason to caulk the pan/wall seperation. The pan goes up far enough to prevent water from going up and over. I am curious what exactly the dealer is caulking here. The shower door under the lower track needs some is all. A simple pressure test would find the leak fast. Most times its a cracked pex fitting, or a fitting that was not tightened up properly, or cross-threaded. The OP has a pipe/fitting leak. He should pull the faucet assembly out and check for leaks there, pressurized and water running. If none found, and the drain is not leaking, then the shower needs to be removed to check all the pex behind it. The dealer does not want to do this inspection since it will take time, and it is low profit for them. Not a hard job. Mostly grunt work. Have done it twice to my other trailers. Putting it back together takes patience. Especially the door and track system. That's what I would do before I ever took it back to the dealer. He is not addressing the root cause of the OP's leak. If the OP doesn't have those skills, maybe a mobile tech can address this. I always wonder about the dealers and their tech's skills. Some are lacking. "Yep, we will put our top guy on it." They did try slapping chalk on everything, around pan, up door edges, track, and the push in wall retainers. They did pull the faucet and said it looked like no leaks. In anticipation of having to remove the shower enclosure they had ordered a replacement. Meanwhile we're stopping up the water as it appears. |

To confirm I sprayed water at this joint and clearly had water leaking while doing so. Then added caulk to the joint inside the shower and no more water leaking. My pan must not: either go up the back side of the wall as should be, or has a crack in the pan at the bottom wall location. Thanks for your comment because I agree that masking a problem is not a solution. __________________ |
